TEACHERS

The SORT TEAM will be meeting every Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. in the Counseling Office.  If you have any concern about a student, please attend.

The School Board will be selecting a Superintendent to replace the current Superintendent who will retire next summer and they would like your assistance.  Board members want your advice on what you would like to see the district look like in the future and strategies you would like to see implemented to put that vision in place.  Each teacher is asked to call three parents of children in their class and ask them to attend the following meeting.

The board has set a meeting for Virginia High School teachers.  This meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 11 from 3:20 to 4:50 pm at Virginia High School in the media center.  All teachers who work at Virginia High School must attend this meeting.  All other employees who work at Virginia High School should attend this meeting.  If you need clarification please discuss this with your building principal or supervisor.  The school board thanks you for your assistance.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Detention meets at 3:15 pm in Room T128 …Monday through Thursday.

College classes will not be held on Tuesday, 11/11 due to Veteran’s Day.  All vocational students will be required to attend study hall during their vocational class hours unless they have a note excusing them for those hours.

SENIOR HIGH ANNOUNCEMENTS

SENIORS: Schedule your graduation portraits as soon as possible to guarantee your appearance in the 2008-09 Rohian.

ACT and SAT test dates and information are available in the Counseling Office.

SENIORS:  When you bring in Scholarship & College Applications, please make sure you have them to the

Counseling Office at least a week before the due date to insure that they are mailed on time.

**Scholarships are posted on the bulletin boards inside and outside the Counseling Office.

Applications are available from the Counseling Office.  Some scholarships or awards are available for 7th-12th, check the list.

Attention Seniors!  Please bring your grad picture to the Counseling Office.  Your picture will be put on the senior bulletin board.  We’d like to see them all on there.  Thank you!

College reps visiting our school: Students must sign up in the Counseling Office one day in advance!

SOPHOMORES: You are to report to the Resource Center on the Study Hall side on Thursday, 11/13, Periods 1-4 to take the PLAN test a pre ACT test.  Report directly to the Resource Center and attendance will be taken there.  Please bring a number 2 pencil and a calculator.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Please remember that Jostens will be here to take graduation orders for announcements, senior keepsakes, and cap/gown/tassles on Wednesday, November 12th, from 2:00-12:26 p.m. If you did not receive an ordering packet in the senior meeting, extra packets are available in the office.  It is important that your parents review the information prior to order day or by the turn in
deadline.

GOLFERS MEETING
All golf team members and those students interested in joining golf please meet in the Peanut Free Room next to the cafeteria at the following times TODAY:
Grades 7 & 8  11:15
Grades 9-12   12:15

Prom Committee Organizational Meeting TODAY 7:45 am in room T216.  Open to all 10th and 11th graders.  See you there!

All interested players should sign up for  Varsity Knowledge Bowl in Mr. Holmes’ room R262 by Wednesday, 11/19.

Senior High Math Team meeting Tuesday & Thursday,  November 11th and 13th during senior high lunch in T204.
